Livin' the good life
« on: January 20, 2006, 08:29:15 AM »
Last night I dove into assembling my new system, replacing my NF2 Epox board with a NF4 Epox SLI board, a 6800GS video card, and an additional gig of ram.

I got everything hooked up, crossed my fingers, closed my eyes and pressed the power button.  SWEET!!!, no arky sparky.  I went thru, did a couple of things in the BIOS and figured I'd see if it would boot directly into windows.

Well, like I said, I must be doing something right.  XP pro booted up,  loaded the appropriate drivers where needed and VOILA!!  I'm ready to go!  I didn't have to do anything.  I updated the motherboard drivers and video drivers, but that's it.

I now have AH running at 1296x1024 resolution, 4X AA, max detail on everything, 1024 textures and getting 60 FPS solid.  It's lilke a whole new game!!!

Does anyone know if there is a website or something that EXPLAINS what all the Bios settings are and what they do on an NF4 board?  I had a good site when I upgraded to the NF2, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

Thanks!
