My bets for this past weekend:

Vikings by 7 (My home state football team)
Ravens by 3

Split even...and I've been saying all season that Tim Brown uses an illegal push off to get distance from the corner, and predicted the Raiders would fall in the playoffs because the refs would call that stuff..guess what, 4th quarter, critical TD catch, Tim Brown pushes off, refs call it, TD doesn't count.

Am I good or what?

There are worse things than being a Vikings fan... Ever try being a Seahawks fan?

Yep, my number 1 team, thru thick and thin!  I love rooting for an underdog.

BTW, when the Raiders lost to the Seachickens, I knew the Raiders would never make it to the big dance this year.

Having lived through the Vikes four Super Bowl losses as a kid, it's not a matter of if they would choke, but when. My Mom and I were discussing this before the game, and decided that they might as well get it over with and choke in this game.

It's no wonder that the tax payers in Minnesota won't let their tax money go for a new stadium for "the Chokers".

Talk about your jaded fans, eh?

At least the Cowboys can remember when they were good and have a QB that, when uninjured, can play well.  Seahawks... hmmm, not much to work with in the QB department.  Nothing quite like watching Huard get run down over and over during a game... almost as bad as watching Johnson of the Bills get hammered every other play.

Natedog,

My wife didn't miss a Dallas game all year.  She loved almost every one of them.. there were only 5 she didn't like.

I have no idea why she hates them so much.  We can be anywhere at any time and I can say "Cowboys"... her instant response is "I hate them so much".  She doesn't even like football.. she just hates the Cowboys.  Wierd eh? Hehehehe

I know alot of people like that. I don't think it's even about the Cowboys so much as it is Jerry Jones.... He's what everyone hates about the Boys.

No Nate, it's not that easy.

I've hated the Cowboys for more years than I can remember.

I'm an old St. Louis Cardinals fan, and that should say enough.

For some reason, those two teams got a little bit of a rivalry going a while back.

Even when the Cardinals had a losing record, for some reason, they'd always get up for the Cowboys, and at least put up a good fight.

I also got sick of watching them totally waste their Monday Night Football competition.  Staubach, Dorsett, all those guys.

Then after that, we watch the post-Danny White years, where they start kicking butt and taking names again.  Disgusting.

But, you know what?  They're not half as much fun to hate when they're not playing well.  I learned a new level of hatred for them during their Jimmy Johnson years.  What a dork.  Hey Jimmy, Glen Campbell called, and he wants his hair back.

And Jerry Jones.  What can you say about Jerry Jones?  He's the icing on the cake, but not the main protagonist.  I still can't believe that idiot fired Johnson over Johnson snubbing him at a bar.  I don't care HOW big a dork someone is, if they put the goods on the table, you back the heck off.  Go drink with your rich buddies, and leave the coach alone.  That dude is like Steinbrenner, but with only half his IQ!

So anyway, it's not just Jerry Jones.  Us Dallas haters have always had good reasons to hate the Cowboys, and most of it stems from watching them beat your favorite teams!

Let's hope they do better next year so I can feel good about hating them again!

Mk

P.S.: Since everyone seems to be getting their panties in a bunch lately at the drop of a hat, let me say the preceeding was a good natured jest, and was simply the promulgation of the good 'ol American Competitive Spirit that resides in all loyal NFL fans.

P.P.S.S.: I'm also glad Aikman finally decided to hang them up.  I don't like to see somebody suffer repeated concussions over and over, even if I don't like them or their team!  It's no fun to boo someone who's unconscious.  He was a hell of a quarterback, and he'll be remembered for a long, long, time.
