Read on Drudgereport yesterday that the Miami paper did their recount and bush picked up 251 votes to Gore's 245.  But I'm sure we'll get the same amount of diferent vote counts as there were/are diferent groups counting them, which is why the whole handcount idea was stupid, in my view anyway.

HMMMMMMMM I wonder why the mainstream press didn't report this?    Guess it doesn't fit into their reality. I'm suprised that I made the first post on this.

Woo'oo!!

Bush picked up a whopping 6 votes in one count of some more Miami/Dade ballots and you guys interpret this a Bush overcoming Gore's multi-thousand vote lead there?

Can you not do basic math or are you just so partisan that your brains have stopped working?

Its over.  Bush won.  Live with it.  Be slightly gracious in victory.

Dang Karnak, seems like your the one who needs to learn to live with it.  And I did miss state that, what I ment to say was Bush won the recount, in which Gore was supposed to pick up some 600 votes.  Sorry for the confusion.

I heard it on the radio too.

It isn't being reported widely for the same reason that Jesse Jackson isn't jumping up and down about the slavery that is still being practised by blacks in Sudan and other places in Africa: It doesn't serve the liberal agenda. (plus its far more comfortable in the good old USA, and there are more TV cameras)

Well, but you see, if you follow the Republican Ideology, then there is nothing to report really, because as every whiny-voiced Pachyderm I've ever seen talk about this mess has said, you can't really count the ballots anymore, as the chad is no longer "virgin," and cannot be used to count for either candidate.

According to Republican Strategists, the chad has been comprimised by Mysterious Democratic Gremlins, and the results of any further counting cannot be counted.  Only the initial machine counts should stand.

How quickly they forget, as they wallow in their pseudo-victory, the war cries, or should I say war-WHINES, that they bleated to the world just a short time ago.

You guys are too easy.

hehehe MK you crack me up. Thanks for the laugh and for proving my theory about libs, not all libs just the one's like yourself.  Which is that when a liberal is losing an argument based on fact and truth they always resort to personal attacks.  Well I guess it is a whole lot more easy to call somebody a name than it is to actualy research the idea your arguing.

Case in point, your first post said "how easy we all forget" refering to opinions that there can be no valid hand recount.  Then I asked you to read my post again, in which I hold true to that opinion.  Then when you see that your first post was in error you come back and call my view "stupid".  Would you care to elaborate on why my view is "stupid"?

Eagler, before I'll respond to you, you need to know the difference between a s-e-n-a-t-o-r and a g-o-v-o-r-n-e-r.  Talking with you is like beating up a drunk.  It doesn't phase the drunk, all it does is bruise your hands.

Seriously though Eagler old boy, chill out.  We're shooting the bull here, and having fun.  Just don't think you can start spouting your right-wing horse hockey, and expect everyone in the world to start clapping and cheering.  This isn't personal, I'm just having fun.  If you start taking it too personally, maybe you're trying real hard to be a member of "Club Touchy."

I'm not willing to call you a card-carrying member yet, just realize that some people have fun verbally jousting, and can do so without feeling like they have to go kick their dog because someone said something on a UBB they didn't agree with.

Udie, I like you.  You're silly.

And Udie, thanks for proving my theory about Paranoid Republicans.  Well, not ALL Paranoid Republicans.  You're so absorbed in your self-righteousness and suspicion of the media, that you can't tell when someone's playing with your words.

"was stupid, in my view anyway."

It's called "a play on words."  I don't think you're really stupid.  You obviously let this one sail right past you, but I don't think you're stupid.

And as far as "how easy we all forget," that was just in case there was a Pachyderm or two out there that was going to start crowing if this silly re-count (by the GASP! Liberal Media) started to sway Bush's way, that's all.  If it's over and done with, it's over and done with.  If it's not, let's do what I thought the whole damn state should have done in the first place, and re-vote the whole darn thing.  Maybe if they got a second chance, they might be able to count the votes with some bit of accuracy.

And no, very rarely does a liberal have to resort to personal attacks when engaging Paranoid Republicans.  We simply point out things they've said, how they've voted on issues, and what they've done in the past politically.  Very seldom does one need to resort to the kind of verbal attacks Paranoid Republicans use against Democrats.

Now, let's put on our Hazardous Materials suits, and stop taking this all so seriously.  If you guys are going to get all in a snit, start taking this seriously, and get all bent out of shape, I'll stop.

I just thought we could have some good-natured fun.  If I'm going to have insults hurled at me from the Pinnacle of Righteousness, I'll try and find a group to play with who can have fun with it, and not act like they're on the verge of taking their basketball, and going home.

But, by the same token, don't let me catch you repeating some kind of Rush-esque mantra, and not expect me to come in with guns blazing.  But they're happy guns.  They mean no malice personally to anyone.

Now, off to watch my Missouri Tigers beat the stuffing out of the Wildcats.  Go Tigers!

Found the article on USAToday's site.

Miami-Dade ballot review shows 6-vote loss for Gore

Al Gore, who was looking to pick up as many as 600 votes in a recount of Florida's Miami-Dade County, actually would have lost six votes, according to a newspaper's examination of 10,600 previously uncounted ballots.

The Palm Beach Post reported Sunday that if all the dimples and hanging chads on those contested ballots had been included in the vote totals, President-elect Bush would have gained 251 votes and Gore would have gained 245. The newspaper said its review also showed that the vast majority of ballots rejected because there was no clear punch for any presidential candidate in fact contained no vote for president. Most of those no-vote ballots did have votes in other races.

In the Florida election dispute, Miami-Dade election officials abandoned their hand examination of ballots Nov. 22 after completing 140 of the county's 614 precincts.

The Post's review of the undervotes is the first of several being conducted by news organizations.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

MK old buddy. I know the difference. Was your grandfather senator? Mine was Governor (Ohio 59 - 63), Price Stabilizer (under Truman) and Democratic Presidential nominee of '60. Yea, I know the difference..

I am amazed at the grilling they are giving Ashcroft. They act as if he was on trial for a crime or something. If Ronnie White was half as tough on criminals, Ashcroft would not have opposed his nomination. After having a do nothing lesbo for the last 8 years, they don't know what to do with character and integrity.
