I've had problems with rubber bullets from time to time.
POSSIBLE fixs are..........
Do a remove (standard nothing special) and then reboot and then reinstall into the same folder etc. then reboot again.. If you do this correctly you should lose none of your setting or sounds or skins.
That has helped me many times! SEEMS like something on my system sometimes gets messed up and the only fix is a remove and reinstall. It Usualy happens if I get a CTD or press alt+f4. Perhaps the communication portion that talks with the AH server on my machine somehow gets porked occasionaly? Could also be a buffer/cache thing and the rebooting clears it but when I think back the reboot only seemed to do nothing? I had this problem when I was using W98 and seems to still happen with XP?
Other possibles. Check for any recent installs of software changing anything!
Spyware? Trojan? Virus? Etc. May have just recently snuck onto your system via an email?
Noticed sometimes SEEMS like on my system the video rendering gets somehow out of synch with the server or maybe even what my computer sees?????? Then there is very little I can do but relog and hope for the best. Not sure whats happening here. Not sure I can explain it either. It SEEMS like the servers is between 1/2 a second and a full second ahead of what I see and STAYS that way (this on my system could very easily be a connect issue, dialup at 37k). Collisions become a major problem when this happens as I can manuver to avoid and on my FE (what I see, but think my computer sees something different) I do avoid but I have a collision anyway and down I go.
It's like, sometimes, there is possibly a delay between what my computer sees and what I see or what the vid card renders on the monitor???????? If it is this then it could explain the problem. You're shooting at what you SEE on your monitor, using the correct angle and timing you normally use, but your computer is seeing the con elsewhere so you will not hit unless you happen to aim where the computer actually sees the con????
I have NO idea if this is correct. I haven't seen the code. Not even sure I would understand the logic/timing being used by HTC to deal with the lag issues between systems, connections, and server hops anyway.
OH BTW HTC for making the effort to control lag etc......
Well that's my $0.02
Hope it maybe helps someone somewhere.
