why not have airbases that resemble historical ones? have more detailed hangars?

We are actually going to me making the airfields look much more historical.  The field you see in the screenshot is just a regular AH field that we are using for testing.  I've based the first US field on Boxted.  It's still in progress.

My question is: will we see a difference between "residential" (which is a valid target, but not the primary) and "industrial" (warehouses and such), and/or see a goal to kill "xxx warehouses" and not just level the residential areas?

If you examine the city, you'll notice that the industrial parts are more brownish with large warehouse/factories.  The residential areas are more maroonish.  It is an early design, and not really laid out like a real city would be in CT.

copy that, Superfly, but my question was more along the lines of mission goals and achieving them. Will it turn towards pinpointing the industrial targets more, eventually?

I noticed the difference in residential and industrial in the screenshots and was wondering if it would play any part.

Nice screenies, especially the ramzey's one above :D

However, am I mistaken, but do the cities look a bit like the present day US cities.. residential areas with curving roads and densely built concrete buildings at small industry areas... must be IT- or electronics companies there.

Maybe it is the missing street pattern, not completely horizontal-vertical, but with mixed diagonals and also rivers and parks inside the city.

Probably such would be more difficult to make :)

I don't know the specifics, but yes, I believe it will focus on particular areas.  Not like, "bomb the 7-11 at 3rd and Main."  I think it will be a more general area rather than pinpointed targets.  I'm sure that could change in the future with fighter if we implemented JABO/attack missions, but, I can't give any more details than that.
