Cit2 have three LODs for living and three LODs for dead shapes.  Also each dead shape LOD is build up from 2-4 sub objects because of the texturing.

With separate objects it is possible to use different texture files. Remember, only one texture file per object.

Loads great into TE.I build the map and then while loading the map in the game the game freezes. Here is the zip file of my object and tetures:
mmilin.741.com/cit4.zip
(just a try, dont worry about textures)

Object hierachy seemed ok, even though the "l48" group is not needed.

In the hierarchy the object group has name "cit0". That might cause a problem if you are also using the HTC default object cit0 on your map in TE.

I built converted you shape in OE and built it into one of my test maps in TE. It worked fine in the game!

What exactlly did you change? I tried to put it on another map but it still can't load in the game.

I did not change anything... or wait a minute...

I renamed the ac file as cit44.ac before converting it to OE and then I defined the object as structure in TE, that was all.

Note: I did not do anything else to it in OE, only converted it! Then I copied the converted shp and the 2 HTX files from userlib to texsrc.

Hi DUH,

I find some other issues and I'm litte bit confused now

- The object centers are wrong. The house is partly underground.
- All AH material definition lines are missing. The AC3D saving problem?
- All surfaces are using mat 0. The AC3D saving problem?
- Living shape is in bottom of the hierarchy three. Should it be on top??

- The housed.bmp texture transparent value and housed_a.txt index are wrong.

Hierarchy tree
If I remember right, Hitech said once the living shape(s?) should be on the top of the tree.  Maybe I am mixing the stuff here.

AC3D
I had similar problems with AC3D when Save/Save As exported or own objects. I didn't find any fix for this problem.

AH material definition lines
Do we really need all those 256 material definition lines or just those material lines which are used for object?

I compared a different cit4.ac file sizes to the converted cit4.shp file sizes.

The Cit4.ac file size with one material definition line is 2,9k and with 256 material definition lines size is 31,9k. After the converting both cit4.shp files are 7k size.

Xjazz , don't worry, everything is ok:) :)
Housed had color of 222 not 225 so i have fixed that.i haven't noticed need for materials.I can destroy building like any other.I also fixed object size and position.
Thanks anyway but i don't see the point of materials?

You must have the same origin for everu objects and every level of groups. Check them!

Hi

I recheck your object and fix few things.

Object "o308", remove bottom surface and change rest to the 1 sided.
Object "tex0", remove top and bottom surfaces.
Object "tex1", remove 4 vertices, 4 surfaces and change rest to the 1 sided

Also set all obejct centers to the origin.

ttp://warezhouze.1g.fi/Here/AH/terrains/AC3D/cit4e.ac

In AC3D you can find from Tools menu a Adjust Object centers (or similar) function. With that you can set house object center to the Y-minimum.
