Widescreen Resolutions
« on: February 04, 2006, 04:31:06 PM »
I was hoping maybe HTC could add widescreen resolutions to the game.

Right now, I have to choose 1024x768 and my monitor is capable of 1360x768.

Screen is streched out so gunnery is difficult.

I was hoping for the following resolutions:

1360x768
1280x720

It would be very cool.  If it's a big deal, then maybe this won't happen.  I hope other people will want this too.
If anyone has a HDTV with pc input, this is a great way to play Aces High.
I'd be happy if just one of those resolutions was enabled.

I understand that framerates may be reduced, but I will not complain

Ah yes, the manual edit of the .cfg file workaround. Haven't done that in a game since European Air War. :D
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

You must not have a widescreen, almost every game I play I need to edit the config files...

hitech, you are a genious!!!

Thank you, thank you and thank you.

the stretching was causing it to look blurry when not zoomed in.  Now it looks crystal clear.  My gunnery will come back!  Although, the typhoon did look sexier when in wide mode :D

This is sooo sweet!!!!!!!!!

Ya know, I'd have paid ya for that info.  :D

BTW, in the settings, it shows at 1600x1200, is it really that resoultion and just cropped by your software therefore, it only renders 1360x768, the resolution that I typed in my video8.cfg file?  Nevermind, I don't need to know that.

Man, this looks so sweet!!!
