The pledge should be shortened to " I pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states of america with liberty and justice for all" The end.

Before you know it there is no more pole (you old folks _don't_ need to elaborate or explain the marvels of modern medicine).

Do you mean kids at school repeat it every morning?

In 1989 I spent 4 weeks in a Jesuitic Catholic school in St.Louis. We didn't attend morning prayer, because we were not Cathilic and not even all Atheist or Christian (we had Jews and Moslims in our delegation), but I never thought that our American schoolmates had to repeat anything like that...

Under "Evil Totalitarian Soviet Regime" (tm) we didn't have anything like that.

i remember in elementary school they told us that we didnt have to do the pledge. many didnt because they were lazy. i did every day (except when i had severe broncidus.) even today when i go to DEP meetings when we recite the Salor's Creed, i yell it as loud as i can and top it off with "HOOYA NAVY!!"

Did the pledge of allegiance every day until high school. If you were in boy scouts, you could do the salute.

Things were a lot better back then, you had pride in the country and the only thing people worried about is if it was going to rain on Friday.

Nowadays people can't wait to sue schools, get money, worry about terrorism, blame the country, etc.


I want a time machine. I want to go back to 88-89.
