Crashes
« on: February 05, 2006, 12:06:08 PM »
This new update is crashing me back to the desktop 10 times a day.  It is also occasionally locking up my 'puter 3-5 times a day.

I am running AMD XP3200 on Asus A7N8X Deluxe Mobo with 2 Gigs of RAM and a Geforce 5900 card.  Brand new 80Gb Maxtor.

This is the only program I am having any problems with and it only started a few days ago.

The best video driver for the 5000 series of NVidia cards is the 61.77 version.  All later drivers have been optimized for the 6000 series and higher and have known issues with the 5000 series.

And for anyone interested I had the same problem with my Nvidia 6800GT I was running the latest drivers and Skuzzy suggested dropping back to older drivers.  I went back to 77.77 and it fixed my several times a day crash to desktop.  Thanks Skuzzy:aok
