I am posting this question for hitech staff in regards to bombers in this game. Any other responses should be considered spam and deleted please.
Is this game designed purely for furballers? I am glad to see that you can pilot 3 bombers at once AND that they have very accurate guns.. both of these aspects give the bombers much greater survivability compaired to the historical bombers of WWII. I am however a little dissapointed that after climbing out for 30-45 minutes to attempt to accomplish some impunity to fighter cover.. the bombs seems to be impotent. The 1,000lbs bombs have very poor blast radius.. Ive seen one thousand pounds worth of explosives detonate and I can assure you that a tin and wooden hangar would not survive if within 50 yards. This seems to have encouraged dive bombing buffs... Is that what high tech wants? An arena where bombers are only used to fly 10 miles at minimum altitude to inaccuratly drop 8 bombs on two hangars?
Is this an attempt to keep the MA a furball arena?
If so your website toats this game as a overall simulator offering stratigic combat.... Ive read arguments here that bomber pilots want to ruin peoples fun by killing their fighters.. well dont fighters want to ruin bomber pilots fun by killing their ords and their bombers?? This makes little sense It would seem that people who have the most patience and take the most time to see the overall picture IE... bomber pilots are being limited intentionally.

Posting in an open forum is always under the premise that the writer has responsibilities to his post - one of them being the accountability towards criticism and opinion from other forum users. If you did not want any of that, you should have sent them an E-mail. Personally, I must add that this is a very very bad way to start a thread and more than likely to raise brows on a lot of people, considering the arrogant nature of treating other's opinions as 'spam'. Not everyone is a nice guy like me, and take time to write things out like this.

Wrong analysis, wrong conclusion. Not to mention the demanding tone towards the game's creators, which I assure you, is not ever gonna let you have any kind of answers from HTC.

Let's see.

So, you are basing your lack of bombing accuracy - missing the bombs by 50 yards - as proof of intentional bomber-neutering, which in turn, is claimed as a part of some conspiracy towards bomber planes in favor of fighter planes and their furballing tendency.

It is no wonder you didn't want any other person's opinions.

Hmmm, sounds like a 2 weeker to me. Just practice a bit Bomber, you'll start hitting things in no time. Bombing is one of the easiest things to do in this game. In time you should be able to put those bombs right on the target every time, any bomber worth their weight can easily. BTW, on top of 3 bombers and lazer guns you also have a crazily accurate bombsite. So it's something you're doing wrong, not HTC. As for the furball comment, this game has shifted from that looooong ago. Now it's all about base capture and winning the war. And of coarse fighters are going to attack bombers, you're about to take down our hangars duh!:rolleyes: Now if you went and hit factories and such, most true "furballers" could care less. I really think you have furballers confused with the war winner crowd. We don't take down ord. or barracks. We don't do mishunz. We don't want to win the war. We don't care about virtual airplanes. We fight and that's all we want to do.

My invalid spam opinion, as a fairly serious bomber jock is:

Any weakness in the bombs (or more to the point, excess strength in the structures) simply balances out the absurd accuracy of the AH bombsite. Statistically most of the bombs in the war missed by 300 or more yards... Destruction of targets was accomplished by carpet bombing, not pinpoint accuracy.

You really can't come in here and pick one specific item and say it is unfair or unbalanced unless you take a moment to look at the game as a whole. It is a game after all. Did you not notice that there was no wind? Did you not notice that targets are almost never obscured by clouds? These are HUGE advantages for bombers - and were almost never true in real life.

Taking it a step further... In Aces High, 22k feet is practically low-earth orbit... Few fighters will bother with you and you can get there in 30 minutes... A genuine B17 fully loaded in WWII was lucky to get 300ft per minute rate of climb AT SEA LEVEL (in Aces High a B17 will make 300 fpm at 18k feet). It took forever to attain the 27,000 to 32,000 feet they would cruise at.. And even at that altitude the fighters were on them.

Aces High is a game... It is in the genre of simulation. Its primary intent is entertainment - not a by the book simulation of war. If that were its intent you would only get one life.

Last and most importantly... If Hitech wanted a furball only game, there wouldn't be any bombers at all... And that would be a much simpler way to accomplish that goal. This conspiracy theory of them nerfing bombers to make them go away is rather silly when you consider that the DELETE key is on Hitech's computer - I'm sure he would have done it if he didn't like bombers.

Oh where to begin, once again when you post on this board you are making things public. If you didn't want people to responde then you shouldn't have posted here, but wrote HTC an email. Whether you like it or not we can state our opinions as long as they they follow the forum rules and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it except whine. So I and others will say exactly what we feel regardless of what you want mmmkay.

You're still wrong about everything though. It's funny how a guy who plays this game for at most a few months thinks he knows what's needed more than players who've been here for years, let alone the game designer. And please tell me you haven't been playing longer. If you have and you still can't bomb you are hopeless. And how about you do us all a favor and hold your breathe until HT respondes:aok

Lastly, I think Kweassa covered it very well and maturely. I imagine HTCs answer will be much the same. It's all about finding the right mix of game play, nothing more. You aren't going to have 100% accuracy in every area. Why you can't understand that is beyond me.

BTW do you know sgtduex? If not, you should look him up. I think you 2 would get along great.

Here is an offical answer accessible from the 'support' branch of the menu detailing what ordinance is required to destroy objects. Many players have no problem destroying targets from hi altitude level bombing, suggesting that the problem isnt on HiTech end of the equation.

Well, here's a few facts...

1) HTC will lock this thread because of the writer obviously hasn't bothered to read the forum rules.

2) It will be likely be ignored as the writer is arrogant in tone and the posts are discourteous to HTC and the subscribers who utilize the forums.

3) Threatening another BBS user with physical violence will likely result in being forever banned..

LMFAO!!! Are you kidding you expect thi game to be perfect!!! I meen especially TOD o I meen Combat Tour so you don't get mad at me for not being perfect. Also, why does it matter to you!! And if you haven't noticed we don't hasve uber grafics but 1k I meen 1,000lb I meen 1,000 pound bombs do damage from 50 yards away and I don't belive hangers are made of tin or aluminum (if they are they were idiots) but if you also haven't noticed (here comes a song)

Yeah, if you wanted answers from a developer you probably should have contacted them to begin with.
