If you are thinking about getting into a jet sim I would recomend starting with Lomac's Lock-on Flaming Cliffs rather than jumping right into a highly complicated sim like Falcon 4 a/f. They're both unbeleiveable sims, Lockon f/c has better graphics than F4, and its a little easier to jump into and start playing. Falcon 4 will take some time to learn, and get good at. You have to start with training and go through every detail one at a time with Falcon 4. You can just get into falcon 4 and fly everything in easy mode with icons, and ez mode radar ect, but that's not much fun either and also the game likes to crash for alot of people with easy mode radar on in falcon 4 a/f.

You know what else has been bugging me...Where is Hollywood with a movie about WWII fighters?  Pearl Harbor was a joke.  I would love to see what Hollywood and various CGI groups could do bringing a movie about the Pacfic Theater or 8th USAAF to us.


I'd like to see a remake of The Memphis Belle one day. :)

LO-MAC's a pretty neat sim, as is Falcon. I got into Falcon more, for some reason, though. :)

AI would be needed for a belle film to come out looking good. Not to mention a better film viewer. As the one we have now sucks big time when it comes to making films.

You can make them flyable. But they dont come flyable. And you aren't flying an F-14. You're flying an Su 27 with an F-14A skin. If you want to take off and be able to land on a CV you have to use the Su-33 as the Su-27 wont drop the tail hook.

In lock-on F/C any plane can be made flyable simply by editing the meinit.xml file.

If you want to get technical you can then change the cockpit and hud by further renaming the kabana glass files to either F-15C or A-10.

Its sort of like eating dirt and calling it lobster though. I wish Lockon would grow some balls and do an F-14 that is flyable. :furious

Now they have the "Black Shark" patch coming out in march. Which will be a fully flyable Ka50. The ugliest freaking chopper ever created. Why not do a freakin apache? Jesus! I'd rather have the F18. Eat what's on your plate or go hungry though... I guess.

Cool thanks.  Sounds kinda like US Navy Fighters (1994), flying other aircraft with an F18 cockpit.  


And yes, Black Shark looks amazing, even if it does look smurfy.  Have you seen any of the Track IR demos?  The cockpit is full-3D, trackIR 6DOF support... I'll be buying that for sure.

Yeah, I was putting off buying track IR for Aces High. For Lockon i think its a must. The films of it in use is sick.

I will deffinatly buy B/S as soon as it comes out. I have a feeling that you will be able to make the AH64 flyable simply by editing the meinit file as well. I just wish that the little commie lockon creators would DO SOME MORE US watermelon that is flyable out of the box.

The cool thing about editing the meinit file is that even though you are flying an Su27 FM with a tomcat skin, you also get the weapons of the tomcat, including the Aim54's. And with using the radar on the F15, you can tack and lock on at 100+ miles, and kill at the insane BVR distances the Aim54 was designed for.

Its funny when you set a mission up with F14 AI's armed with pheonix missiles. They take off of the carrier start a shallow climb and two minutes later are launching pheonix missiles and devisating any incoming enemies over 100 miles away lol. You can do the same thing with the flyable tomcat too.

anyone ever play that game F/A-18 Superhornet? that was a pretty daunting sim. must be better than the F-14 too since it is replacing it, no?

its quite old now, i used to love trying to run over the deck handlers.

They will never make/add any aircraft that has two cockpits….therefore you will not get Tomcat, Apache etc. But ED will start working on next project which will have F16 as a main aircraft. Right now Eagle Dynamics are working on v1.2 with Ka50. It will have Advanced FM, full 6DoF and nearly fully clickable cockpit(yay!). yah, that's still ugly, like i said before.

Id rather have a cobra. But i bet it will be fun. The F16 will be sweet, I also see an F18 coming soon, within the next year or so. The skins and cockpit are there. They just need to add a refined FM.

Those sounds, sound like the stock sounds to me, he probably has the DB turned up but that's about it. It might be a sound pack. But I dont think so.

EDIT: And F-18 wouldnt be too bad either.

It already looks sick for a AI..

I was looking on Amazon.com for LO F/C - and only flound LOMAc and LO Gold Edition???  Does this Gold Edition have LOMAC and F/C?

I bought Lockon Modern Air Combat GOLD includes Flaming Cliffs ...
 Flaming Cliff's cd screwed up from factory , called the 800 request hotline for replacement disc. 2 weeks later the new flaming cliff's disc arrives .
 Did a  complete reinstall of windows and all programs .... installl lockon and new replacement cd with flaming cliffs......that again  includes a chitty program named  Starforce .
 DVD slows to a crawl , renders Nero usless, and deposits watermelon all over my registry .
 Do a search on Google , brings up forums and websites with removal tools for starforce software and also different problems caused by starforce watermelon software .
  Takes about a week for starforce to start fugging  up HHD .....crashing system .....
 Not all users of Ubisoft  Flaming Cliff's having problems ,( according to Ubisoft BBS  )  but enough to make lots of people pissed , me included ...
  Dumped the LockOn game in trash and just moved on to falcon 4 Allied Force, F4 AF learning curve stiff, but atleast it dosent fugg my pc up with so-called  publishers piracy protection software, ( StarForce )  that rendered my pc a usless POS !

The gold addition is F/C. You should just go to the store and buy it. What checkers mentioned is very true, and most of the time in the store they have a higher rate of circulation. And you probably wont be getting an older copy of the game. I picked my last pack up in Circuit City. No problems from day one, everything runs fine.

There are no plans for F18 since developers never once said that it even ‘might’ make it. The reason was because no reliable information available due to navy still holding most of it classified, unlike F16 which is all around the world and available for ED to use.
