P26 Peashooter
« on: February 11, 2006, 11:16:01 AM »
i was watching the history channel and they said that in the beginning of the war Philipino pilots shot down several zero's with P26 Peashooters, thats why i think they deserve to have that plane in the game. i would also like to see B25s and Sherman tanks, just to make the game a little more realistic, i also think it would be kinda cool if we had troop wars and a troop war town, it could work something like, have a troop transport take off ever 5 minutes or so and have players para chute into troop war town with weapons like the tommy gun or M1 garrands, so we can fight against other players as foot soldiors.

Shermans and b25's have been requested.  And as follows every request for these craft, do a forum search.
Former XO: Birds of Prey (BOPs - AH2)
Former CO: 91st Bomb Group (H)
Current Assignment: Dickweed Heavy Bomber Group

Ehh, not sure the Peashooter would be worth it (imo, of course)... it was as slow (if not slower) than the early model zeke, and if offered even less firepower and less protection.

As for the "troop war", I think it would be great... but I really doubt the devs could produce something like that.

Check out this thread for an idea that would at least make town capture a bit more involved and interesting.

yes.

the Philipino contribution is disgracefully not represented, and the plane shot down a couple of Zero's so it MUST be added!!!!!!!!!

For early war stuff I think the P-36/Model 75 Curtiss Hawk would be
useful.  Could use it for French, Chinese and Pearl Harbor type scenarios.

At 232 mph, the P-26A was nearly 100 mph slower than the A6M2. I see no use for it whatsoever.

On the other hand, the P-36/Hawk 75 would be used and has a place in scenarios.

i dont really care what they add to be honest with you ;)  no doubt if they are making something else, it will fit in with TOD - an earlier p47/b24/b17 would be nice!

Convince them to bundle it with the Claude ( A5M4 - Mitsubishi ) and Polikarpov I-16.

Definately some neat early war material to play with.
