losing kills after winning war
« on: February 12, 2006, 05:13:07 PM »
This is probably a stupid question but, last nite while flying for the rooks and after killing 4 planes, we had a "victory" over the Bish map reset.  Since the countries change orientation at the time of a reset, I was unable to land my kills.  I flew till I was disconnected for the new map reset.  I was under the impression that I would get credit for my kills but I did not.  Is this the way it is supposed to work?  What is the best way to handle this situation in the future to get credit for the kills?   to all    Thanks!  AKFloppy

Actually, you cant ditch in enemy territory. Youre getting a "captured".

I guess the only thing to do would be log 'before' winning the war. Or stay in tower when its close to happening.

If you do that, you defeat the point. You won't get the bonus points handed out to the winning country. It's 25 in each section, IIRC.

you could have gotten 8 more to make up for the 4 you lost in the time it took you to post this thread. :)

I'm glad most of you have a good sense of humor about it.  hehe  I was just curious how it is supposed to work so I know what to expect.  Not worried about kills or any of that.  I suppose that ya lose the kills and win the war, woo hoo.  Now here I am, wasting more killing time typing this (according to Morpheus)  Thanks for the info anyway, that's all I wanted.

I thought there'd been times I've been in the air with a kill or two when the map was reset (either by Skuzzy or one country won) and when I checked my stats after being disco'ed the kills were there.

Yeah Sax, the kills are there, but you dont get the "SYSTEM: Saxman got discoed with 4 kills" message on disco (noone there to read it anyway).

I guess theres just no way to get them scored as landed if you end up far in enemy territory.

Heh, the only time I'd see "Saxman landed 4" of ANYTHING is if they start flashing messages for assists. :D

No credit at all
« Reply #11 on: February 13, 2006, 07:04:37 AM »
It would be nice if you got some credit for kills but on my score it was as if they never happened at all.  This is why I posted the message to see if this was right.  I don't care about the scoring so much but it seemed odd that it was poof and they were gone.  I keep track of kills to assists ratio to see if I am improving from month to month.  I really don't understand why the map has to change country orientation during the time before you are booted for the reset.  Oh dear,  more issues.  hehe  AKFloppy

If you are in the air when the map resets, it's as if the flight never happened.  Only way to got credit for those kills would be to land and take the ditch/capture.  No name in lights, but they would still count.
