how many people fly with the stick on their lap as opposed to on the desk?

dont u find it awkward? i move all over the place like im riding a motorcylce..for some reason if i lean it helps my plane turm better  I gotta have it on my right leg, the first plane i got in was f16 so maybe thats where i picked it up. Also its easier to duck and lean when u see tracers coming over the canopy

Don't really find it awkward.  I have a hard time (for some stupid reason) with using the hat switch for my views.  I do the ol' keypad look-around with my left hand while right hand is flying simply because I can track enemy planes a lot better.  I was using my x-52, which is a very good stick btw, but after a couple months of using it, I could not seem to improve my dogfight ability.  Got fed up and went back to my Fox2 Pro.  Fighter skills are much improved.

heres a tip egg...program the  "A" key to look "back and up" or "up"....the rest of the views are easily covered with the hat in combo with that assigned "A" key..i flew as u did crossing my hand over for years...trust me this works better as you have alot less work to do and can rest your hand or use it for other tasks than the view reach

Lap, with an old flat USN or Luftwaffe book.

I ditched the old computer chair for a big comfy satellite dish type cushion recently, and it works pretty good.  Using the numpad is a bit awkward with the keyboard on my knees, so I'm only using it in corsairs.  TIR seems to work better at 3+ feet... a little sensitive, but adjusting scaling is easy.

F16s have their stick on the right side of the cockpit, no where near the centerline.

I have "look up" mapped to a thumb button on my throttle... nuts to reaching over to my keyboard.

I have my X45 programed to where I never have to take my hands off the throttle and stick. I usually only do that when I'm on climbout.

I have got my throttle and stick screwed into the desk so they don't move. That desk shakes sometimes with the manuvers I do.
