my MS sidewinder wedges between my legs sitting on the front of my chair.

Leg does tend to cover up a couple of buttons, so I leave those unmapped.

But being able to brace my arm on my leg & steady my stick up outweights any other cons IMO.

I have however been considering making a special holder for it just in front of the chair.

Either a piano hinge attached to the bottom of the chair with a lever to hold it.
(like a drop down leaf on some tables)

Or a bracket that would attach to bottom of the chair with a spot to clamp the jstick solid.

Currently this sytem works well enough that I've had no real urge to change it.

I fly with a mouse.  :( One of these days, I'm hoping to purchase a HOTAS, and mount it to the arms of the chair. I'd seen a similar rig posted on the BBS. Pretty damn cool.

Desk....got blocks of wood screwed to the keyboard drawer in front and back of joystick (and throttle), then it's all tied down with some rope for good measure......totally redneck.

My stick came attached to my lap. It will reach the desk, but that's another story:D

Stick on right leg, throttle to the left on a box.  Sit on a footstool lol.

Course, my monitor is on this little ghetto "bookcase" made of cinderblocks and a couple wooden planks.

I have an old wood desk; I keep the joystick on the right side. A writing board pulls out on the right side, and I use it as an armrest. An old mouse pad acts as an elbow cushion. There is also a writing board on the left side I can use if I ever get a throttle setup.

I got the antique desk and swivel office chair a local school surplus auction for $35.00 (I did have to re-finish the wood.)

As you can see, there is a state-of-the-art telecommunications system! I actually still have rotary phone service here. The1940’s phone was another auction find, I installed a modular plug and it works great.

I also try to keep the beer full.... CHEERS!
My password at work had to contain exactly 8 characters… I chose Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Between my legs in a drumming throne. All I need is some velcro so it doesn't move much :D
