Last night, my squad got 11 Lancs to the knight HQ we dropped twice, first was 4000 lbs x 11 onto the HQ, conservatively we got about 20k on it. Then we turned back and carpet bombed with our remaining payload. Probably a couple of lancs short due to the 163's but at least 6 made it back, I myself got at at least another 4000 lbs onto the HQ let alone the others. But we didn't kill it.

Sooooo

What does it take to kill it, or was this a bug?

I did a search on killing HQ's but couldn't find a satisfactory result.

The last I recall it takes 28,000 pounds of ordnance DIRECTLY atop the HQ Building itself to take out the country DAR. And, the HQ stays down only 15 minutes. 11 Lancs should have been ample if all hit the HQ Building.

i heard 1 set of lancs can do it if u do it right. But thrn i heard it was 32k to kill an HQ so i to am confused.

You need min 3 sets of Lancs salvo 14 x 1k delay 0.05

or

5 x b24's 4 x 2k same salvo delay

or

5 x b17 with 1k ers same salvo delay

yup 37.5k lbs on HQ building lol, That means if ur dropping 4k bombs out of lancs u need At least 4 Sets of Lancasters and the 4k bomb to directly hit the Building, Then use the remaining 9 1k bombs to destroy the surrounding city.

Why bother bombing the city after you've downed the HQ? Just for fun or does it have some effect on the resupplying?

126,000 Lb is what 3 sets of Lancs with 1,000 Lbers is needed to kill HQ because you ain't, not no way gonna do it with anything less.

37,500 Lb ain't even gonna shatter the windows.

Might mean the Zone City, which is what resupplies HQ and factories. If convoys make it from Zone City to HQ, it cuts down time to respawn (1/2 hour i think I saw once).

Last FAQ re> HQ I saw also said an HQ took 19,000 lbs to take out and would leave it down for 2 hours (unsupplied), but that may have been changed from what the above thread sez. That would mean 1 Lanc flight could do it, if the strike were dead on, so that very well may have been changed.

bottom line, 37,500lbs.

if you are able to put 37,500 lbs on the large white building at the HQ, the radar will die.

Dropping bombs NEAR the white building, or KINDA hitting close to the white building just won't cut it.

IF you PUT 37,500lbs of bombs on the white buiilding, and 37,500lbs of bombs HIT said building, that HQ is gonna die.

No other factors but aim. Either you hit it or not.

Reminds me of a thread I read once where a guy was SCREAMING in this post about how ack was porked, and how he emptied a gazillion round of .50cal ammo into an ack and it wouldn't die. He even filmed it.

HT reviewed the film, and after doing some HTC magic, found that only a handful of rounds actually hit the field ack. The guy sprayed a ton, came near lots, ALMOST hit it bunches, but only a couple rounds actually "hit" the ack.

This is the exact same situation. You can have 100 lanc's dropping 420,000lbs worth of eggs. If you don't hit the target, it won't get damaged.

Bottom line.
