Let me start by saying I drive (slightly above 5-10 mph the speed limit)
When I am driving in the passing lane and passing cars that are on my right and some idiot come up behind me expecting me to pull to the side for him. If the road is clear, I always pull to the next lane, but I drive with Cruise Control set and am not about to speed up or slow down for anyone behind me.
If that person is in such a rush, let them go around.. They are already breaking the law speeding, go all the way and change lanes without a signal, fail to stay in a lane, tailgate and be sited for reckless driving.
People that do the above in HUGE SUVs, thinking that they handle like sports cars just because it has 4-wheel drive.
Semi-trucks that speed up behind you and flash their high-beems expecting you to move.
Anyone hauling a boat or other unstable trailer load trying to pass everyone.
I don't know the exact numbers, but I would bet less than 25% of the people on the road really understand the physics of the car they are driving or how to respond to an emergency situation.
I am speaking from experience here also. I used to drive a 1987 Monte-Carlo SS. I would go at very high speeds almost all the time. I understood the physics of the car and could do 180 reversals from 50mph, side-skip cornering, down-shift power glides, emergency braking maneuvers, etc.
What really upsets me about speeders now is an experience I had a few years ago. It was snowing and several SUVs were on the highways going to ski lodges, etc. This one prettythangH0LE decided he just had to speed even in the bad conditions. About 5 minutes later I came across the same prettythangH0LE that had run his SUV off into the ditch and killed his wife and put his kid in the hospital. I didn't stop, but found out about what happened on the news the next morning.
