Sorry, but thats not a technical reason. Thats heresay from improper configuration AND most likely lack of updates. First you had both Nortons and McAfee ontogether, Nortons can interfere with other AV software. Secondly it sounds like a 'fresh' install of NOD, up to date that is, versus old installs... how often did you do the updates.
9/10 bad user experiences with AV software are the result of the user not keeping the software up to date.
Theres a german university that runs regular AV comparisons, nod and mcafee are always at the top. Check out av-test.org. Proper methodical tests say you are wrong.
Try again (remember my job is in the security/av area)
So your saying that If I get a virus its because I don't have any idea how to configure a antivirus or update it? Get a grip I'm not stupid, I know how to configure a program to run, an believe it or not, I might be a blonde, but I have common sense enought not to try running 2 incompatable programs at the same time.
If you want a technical reason I suggest yo do the research yourself since you work in the A/V and security field.
I usee to update Norton every tuesday when the release the updates, I had the huristics running everything set to clean, if it can't be cleaned quarantine it, and prompt me for action.
Say what you want aboout some universitie comparing antivirusee, run what ever one you want, but don't accuse me of being stupid
Oh and check you whole computer for viruses, people that make viruses do it every day, NAV updates every week.
You prove to me that Symantic is better than NOD and I'll consider going back to them. I'm teh end user, I'nm the one that needs proof. I'm the one that has to pay money for a product.
