Voxx Broken Up at times
« on: February 20, 2006, 07:29:38 PM »
I was just wondering if anyone might have any tips to help me with a problem I've been having since coming back to AH.  Although I am having no trouble receiving/hearing comms on Vox it seems that to my squaddies I am coming through broken frequently.  They say it will go from coming through real clear, to being broken to the point of being unrecognizable.  Although this is a new computer since coming back to AH, I never had any trouble before on my old computer and using this current computer I've never had any troubles at all using Teamspeak for voice comms.   I shutdown my anti-virus software and use FSAutoStart to kill some processes when starting AH, but it still didn't help.  I am almost to the point of formatting and reinstalling the OS(for more reasons than just this one)  but wouldn't mind putting that off if I could find a whiz-bang idea to fix my voice comms.

Any help or possible ideas to investigate would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure your microphone is working properly?

What type of sound card?  You said it is a new computer.  Are you using the onboard sound device?  If so, that could be the issue.

It's a SB Audigy, not on the motherboard.  Also when I say new I mean that relatively speaking.  It is a year old, but new in the fact that I haven't used it for AH until recently. I don't believe it's my mic on account of the fact that Teamspeak seems to work perfectly for me.

One thing I did notice that I never did completely finish setting up FSAutostart and although I shutdown the unnecessary services I never went in to configure it to shutdown the unnecessary applications running in the background.  I am going to go through and shut them down through trial and error, but is there any types of applications I should look for as likely suspects??

Thanks for help so far!
