The outer reachs are OK, but these maps as a whole are never ending and promotes pure lameness IMO. One horde in one section attacking one base with the opponent a section over doing the reverse. Of course you can`t please everyone.
I wish that were true Jack. I saw very little of Fester cause it got reset quickly. Oz was a little better and Donut was gone way to fast.
AS for the lameness, if it is fighting that you are speaking of, then these maps are guilty. If it is undefended base capturing and hording, then you are wrong. Pizza was the worst offender when it came to this kind of lameness. Because the fields were so far apart you could not defend against the hord once it was on your base. By the time you upped from another field a sector away it was too late.
Because the fields are close together on Fester, Oz and Donut the defenders have a much better chance of fight back the hordes. Perhaps this is the real reason a small group of people don't lile these maps, because they are not safe hideing in the horde anymore.
Yeah straffo both of those maps suck!
The only way Pizza would be good is if the base spacing followed the lessons of Fester, Oz or Donut. Add an uncapturable fighter town and the map will be an instant winner. Make these changes and I am for Pizza.
As for 5 carriers on Pizza, with the overall size and lack of water, 5 was not enough.
I like the new map reacher, better have at least 10 carriers per country and at least half of the fields less than a sector apart. Put a fighter town off in a remote corner and make it so people cant hide carriers in the large open water and I think you would have a winner.
The best part of The great 3 maps (Fester, Oz and Donut) is that, with bases close together, even when the fun nazis kill hangers are your first field there is a close enough base to up from to keep the fight going. If you are a person who doesn't like to fight then I can understand why you wouldn't like the Great 3 maps.

BTW - I've won that trip to Hawii in the MAW to many times before.
