eFalcon / Falcon 4 online with JetNet
« on: October 09, 2001, 10:22:00 AM »
Friend of mine is an American Airline pilot and doesn't have enough home time to subsribe to Aces High and get his money's worth of play...so we fired up Falcon 4 again and thanks to some folks here, installed the eFalcon stuff.

*Wow*

I wish the views worked as nicely as Aces does (automatically return to straigh ahead) but we did manage to link up and have some fun flights together.  The JetNet thing is nice, we had a game going on and folks joining as we went.  We had some real idiots in there that flew straight and level, damn shame I only had 4 AMRAAMs for them!  LOL

Biggest hurdle was finding the port eFalcon wanted to talk out on and enable it in our Linksys Firewall/Routers.

We'd kinda like to do some campaign flying, for the most part, we were just showing off last night, watching each other land and just tickled that Falcon ran so well after all the patches.

Is anyone else out there flying it?  My icq is 978180 and if you want to link up with us late tonight (10pm ish), we're thinking of doing some more flying.  We're novices and cant find our keymaps, so its just for fun.  Ideally we'd like to do some formation stuff, aerial refueling and figure out how the hell to bomb and stuff.

Hmm, maybe find a nice Afghansistan terrain?

 :)

I was told F4 is the nice sim and even bought a copy.
Upon closer examination I could not find a prop anywhere on that bird...

n00b put me in touch with this site...
 http://www.frugalsworld.com/falcon4/f4files.shtml

And its got everything, plus there are links everywhere for more files and such.

Its certainly a lot more complicated a bird than anything we have in Aces High, but its a fun change of pace.  With the Main Arena being packed and everyone downloaded Patch 2, I thought Id take a night off and see how Falcon likes my Voodoo 5500.

We had a great time, the eFalcon docs are pretty thick but well laid out too.  (Still reading!)

I get scared when diving in a Hellcat;  I'm not so sure I can handle an F-16!!!   ;)  Is that the only bird you can fly in F4?  I know nothing about the game, and I prefer modern Navy planes to the AF ones.  Hmm, same goes with WWII US iron...

Falcon with the latest patches has turned into quite a nice game. As soon as I get my joystick, I'll continue with the training to be accepted into the 87th Stray Dogs (http://www.87th.org), which is an incrediblly well organized squad. Gonna go to a LAN with these chaps soon  :)
