OK, OK - sorry about the first one. Didn't think it was that bad...

Just asking - anyone know of any events in Miami which would have caused my friend's flight to London to be cancelled? Bad weather? Terrorist alert? Got a couple of messages, but no reasons given. Seems odd for that many passengers to be subject to a 24h delay, and no replacement aircraft...

:)

Dunno about Miami but we have a winter storm going on right now that would be a Cat 1 hurricane if it was the "season".

it's pretty blustery currently and socked in but not below minimums for commercial iron.  nothing has been reported in the local news.

Apparently he's on the 6.20pm this evening. Still don't have a reason for the cancellation.

the winter storm disrupted all the schedules, their plane was probably stuck up north, south beach is still topless i think.

Erm, no... but I'm not allowed to name any names. :( Google up on the computer storage technique "nines complement". My friend's plane is a 252-599. Power supplied by Charles and Henry.

Raider just happens to be our local airplane historian and expert, he works at an aircraft museum!:aok   Seriously man, your troll needs new bait, quit hijacking the thread into an Airbus Vs. Boeing.

He's arrived. I asked him why the flight had been cancelled, and it turns out to have been caused by an unserviceable aircraft which wasn't able to leave London on its journey to Miami. Erm... no further comment. ;)

The initial comment shows a lack of knowledge about daily aircraft  in service.

Or are you just exhibiting a lack of good sense or judgment in that you think there is some particular brand of commercial airliner that never, ever have mechanical malfunctions that result in flight cancellation?
