Violent Games: Adults would be punished as felons for providing them to kids
By Matt Canham
The Salt Lake Tribune

The House voted overwhelmingly Thursday to yank violent video games out of the hands of minors and punish as felons adults who provide such entertainment to children.

I hope this gets voted down, jailing parents for supplying a game that's legal in all other states seems a bit Orwellian to me.

That seems extreme!

What about racing video games? Only 2 weeks ago, about 2 blocks away from me there were two boys racing each other along Mt. Pleasant Blvd. in their parents mercedes; One of the mercedes t-boned a cab killing the occupants and police found a racing video game in the car. It wouldn't be right to lay felony charges of those parents???

I'm not sure that violent video games create violent responses in kids anyway. I remember lots of criticism over violent cartoons and shows too. Never made any of us 'nuts' . And Three Stooges episodes!! good grief!!:O

Wow, that's....wow.  At least they didn't ban teh evil video games that  put bad thoughts into kids heads, as if groups such as PETA don't already do that.  Hell just fine the parents.

What are they going to do now?  When a kid engages in violent behavior search the house for a violent video game?maybe i'm a rare case but i've not noticed any increased violent feelings after playing a video game.

Isn't Utah one of the "good" red states?
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

I play violent video games all the time and I find it to be great stress relief to blow up some evil mutants and aliens or bash in the heads of zombies.

I normaly walk away from these games feeling great and ready to do something productive (like homework:D )

And anyone who thinks that violent video games makes kids violent is prolly a Jahovas Witness:noid or something close to it.

P.S. anyone who has recieved blood or plasma is a vampire

Edit: Lol I kinda went off on a tanget there, I just reciently learned afew details about JW beliefs......Freaks
