Too bad, the 7800GS AGP is below $300 now :)

Eagl, you bought a 7800GS?  Too bad -- the 7900GTX is below $500 now. :)

Just poking a bit of fun with the above, but seriously, with the rate of advance of video cards, you can always spend more money and get a card that is faster (until you hit the top of the line, of course -- but then wait 6 months, and a new top of the line will appear).  It all depends on what you play, how much you want to spend, how often you want to upgrade, what your price-point is, and so on.

Naw, I didn't buy anything new.  Still using my 6800GT.  My point was that a price of $250 for a 6800 card was put out there in the thread, and to jump from that to a sub-$300 7-series card is a lot of bang for the buck.

Now if he SAID he was looking for a $200ish card, then of course he's going to go for a 6800 if he chooses nvidia.  But I didn't see that anywhere so I pointed out that the AGP 7800 cards were dropping in price.

$300 for pretty much the fastest card you can put in an AGP slot...  Compared to the latest cards out at $500-$600, I'd say the price/performance wasn't too bad but that's my opinion.
