I see that AH provides tools for JS and keyboard mapping.

Are there pros and cons to using the in-game tool to map commands, vs. creating a profile for the Saitek x45?

Does anyone have an x45 profile created?

in game stick map is very easy...but limited..havent tried he profile yet..anyone have x52 profile?

Pro of mapping ingame:
more user-friendly
Pro of Saitek profiler: more flexible

I first just used the ingame mapping, worked fine. Later i added some mapping with the profiler, to make some use of those trimwheels on the throttle. Did not make that work with the ingame mapper alone. So in fact i use both methods at the same time
You could even map some complex commands to your buttons (like ".squelch Lusche" ) with the Saitek software.

yeah... I finally just created an x45 profile from scratch. Ended up working out great.

One thing that I found that is very powerful...

I have POV2 set up for 4 "default" views: Internal Front (Pan), Padlock, Internal Front (Snap), and Instant Rear Six. The same POV is also set for padlocking different aircraft when shifted.

POV1 is set to the numeric keypad commands. By combining the Snap/Pan modes and Zoom (Wide Angle) in with the POV2 view commands, I can instantly get any view scenario I want. POV1 will then either snap to specific views, or work in constant pan mode, depending on which main view mode I'm in.

The Fire A and B buttons fire the primary and secondary weapons. When shifted, these buttons cycle their respective weapons. The trigger fires both weapons simultaneously. Fire D toggles the clipboard, and Launch is to bail out and open the chute after 3 seconds.

I have trim, flaps, zoom, radio, WEP, and auto trim set up on the throttle.

tip: I have the "mike" button on the throttle programmed for straight up view so that when in close fight I can easily press the button with my thumb while moving the throttle keeping the other guy in view while turning and burning
