Now that we all have seen the screenshots I want an honest opinion on this CFS2 thing.

I (silly me) fell for it and bought the first one (jeepers what a pile of goo that was! although shooting bunch of Stukas down was quite enjoyable   ).

So, what do people think of the second coming? (screen shots do look gorgeous but hey - SDOE looks just as good and I have that one in the box somewhere too   )


p.s. (first screnshot) Did Zekes need flaps down to manoeuvre/stay with Hellcats? And Kitty's ailerons seem out of whack with the plane bank angle  .

Whoa!  Wait a minute.  Turns and burns with a Zeke with the drop tank on.  Modelled just the F4U in AH!

It's probably gonna be more of the same - apparently, MS has said that CFS was a big success and they had lots of satisfied customers. I doubt they'll change to cater to us hardcore types.

Notice the two tone paint and the center line DT, that makes it a 1A for sure  

The best thing about the game that pic came from was little things like seeing the shell casing come from the bottom of the wings when you fired   The trade off for the little detail was a 100+ mb download to get it.

It's a 3-tone paint scheme. Look just above the wing(below) in the screen shot. There's a dark navy blue I see there!! :-)

I dunno about CFS2's flight model as I haven't laid my hands on it yet, but so far the beta reviews seem very posititve.

And the eye-candy sure is awesome.

I've been whining and squeakin' to my squaddies for a while about the need for HTC to redo the artwork in the ORIGINAL BETA planes, i.e. La5, P-51, FW190's, B-17...thes are just down right ugly when compared to 109, YAK, ZEKE, and Lancaster cockpit artwork.

In fact I was telling Spinout the other day, that I'd fly the La5 alot more as it is SO MUCH BETTER of a ride than the YAK, if it weren't so BUTT-UGLY in the eye candy department.

Also the AH external art (particularly around the RADIAL engines) could use some doctoring up as well.

Now I realize there is more to a game than EYE CANDY but, it certainly helps immersion, and IS a selling point for HTC's AH over iEN's WB's.
 
Granted a big DL for a guy like me (28.8 conx) is gonna take a bit to get hold of, but Ya'll gotta admit that the new A/C coming out compared to the ones from BETA are sure alot prettier.
