I just reopened my account a few days ago. The squad I was in before  kind of just pettered out. Real life stuff with everyone. So, I need to find a new squad.
I've been around AH since beta. Been started with WB's in '98. Had both account until  last year. Kind of got bore with both at the time. Mostly a bomber dude. But real rusty now. Need to relern. But really need training in fighters. I work 2nd shift at Lockheed Martin. So I can get on line after 0100hrs or so and mornings. Weekends mostly spent with girlfriend unless She's at my house, then I could play a bit then.
I like team work and to have fun with everyone.

hey fireball, you want in? PM me if you are... im thinking about squad structure and stuff. i have everything sorted regarding setup and details, except i have no idea what to call it lol

i was thinking maybe no. 19 RAF squadron, lots of history. lots of battle honours too. just wondering though. would be nice to do something fairly international, but still remain historic. no. 19 used everything from sopwith dolphins in 1918 to phantoms in the 80's. first squadron to receive the spitfire. flew many spit variants, flew mustangs and things too, and were heavily used in d-day operations. they did pretty much everything there was to do in europe lol.

thing is, does AH really need another RAF squad?

i'd like for it really to be an international, all around squad, doing fighters, and some bomber missions. i just dont want it to have a silly gamey name ya know?

lol, who would have thought it would be so hard to pick a name hahaha

anyone have any ideas?

I wouldnt worry about "does AH need another RAF Squad".

If you like its history and battles, if you think it could be representative for what you want your squad to be, then go for it. :)

ty. i think we're kind of set now for a name and group. it will be No. XIX Squadron RAF, 91st BG USAAF

no. 19 flew during the BoB, got quite a tally of kills too! after that, and some time in france and the lower countries, it helped out in norway for a while, before returning to fortress europe, where they flew mustangs and spits of many variants, and helped during D-Day. after that, it was heavily involved in the war over germany, and they flew many escort missions with the 8th AF.

so, to keep to the history, and to keep the squad open and international, we will also have a bomber wing, the 91st bombardment group, which was home to the memphis belle, and many famous bombers of the 324th bombardment squadron :)

so yeah, we're a squad for everyone, of any nationality. we wont only fly RAF and USAAF planes, the name is only there because it fits with history.

so, if you're looking for lots of fun with many experienced pilots, flying fighters, running bomber missions, maybe an occasional tank run, then give me a shout!

the name itself, is just the official one, and kinda boring. the squad will have a nickname that we will refer to ourselves by, and use as a general squad name, instead of all the numbers :) except right now, it's been hard to think of a nickname that links both squads. so, any ideas would be most welcome!

anyways, if any of you have any questions, or think you might like to join, just PM me, and i'll get you sorted.

Poo having your own  squad and being successful  at it is a big ask.

My squad has been around for 2 years come next month.

Hasnt been a fairytale I lead from the front and when I wasnt around for 8 months sailing the globe it very nearly fell apart.

Good luck with finding more people to fly with  but anyone from the UK is welcome  in    The Few.
