Never salute Nomde
« on: March 06, 2006, 11:50:40 PM »
This evening Chanzz and myself join some fellow Rooks outside of A83 ( i think) Pretty nasty affair with about 50% of the Bishers in SPit 16s/La7s with alt. I was getting about 2-3 before being picked off. Frustration set in quikly. I decided I would have one more go at it before bed and headed out. Things went well for me and I bagged 5 in my trusty Frank. Figuring that was a s good as it was going to get I decided to rtb. I was about a minute out or less cruising at about 500 feet when I saw Nomde logging on with a   on 200. I typed " Nomde". As soon as I hit enter my plane exploded and I was in the tower. No kill message, no puff ack in the area, no enemy with in 5k, no trees. Just instant death.

I dont know what the hell thats all about and Im going to say it was the strangest death to date for me. I will throw a hypothosis out there though. I believe the 56th is using a new SAM using a text tracking technology. I was pinpointed and vaporized by this new secret weapon Im sure. Whatever happened Nomde or YUCCA is responsible.

That is all

And you thought them Gremlins were just in the Bugs Bunny cartoons... :)
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

You know, I fly bish and I've never seen 50% of them in LA's and 16s.  My experience watching Bish take off and land says they are in a wide mix of planes, and if there is a big preference, its probably N1k2s, P38s and Pony's.

This reminded me of a remark in the book 'Duel of Eagles' talking about how the Germans would always claim they were fighting Spitfires in the battle of Britain because none of them wanted to admit that they got shot down by a Hurricane, or for that matter that they had to work that hard to shoot one down.

At one point in the story he talks about Germans claiming something like 230 Spitfire kills in France in the month leading up to Dunkirk... But points out that NOT ONE SINGLE SPITFIRE was based in France at the time, They were all in England.  And if I remember correctly, the total 'Spit' kills recorded by the Germans during that month was more than the number that had even been produced up to that time!  hehe.

Anyhow, point taken... Never Nomde.

As luck would have it, I had icons turned on and was able to correctly identify said bad guys. :O

Joking aside, I dont know if it was a mission, fighter sweep, or whatever. there were an above normal amount of Spit 16s and La7s at the time. At one point I only saw La 7s in a low furball. I wasnt casting stones at the Bish, Ill fly a 16 at the drop of the hat. I was just setting up the story.

p.s.  All the Bish died.

I was up around that area too, and I'd have to agree with the 50% count. Although I'll give you that not all were flying Spit XVIs. SOME were in IXs. ;)

It's been my experience that HT could eliminate all but Spits and LA's and lose about 20 customers LOL.

Due to my non disclosure agreement with silat, i'm not able to expand on the saluting sheep tracking device (SSD). I will say I had borrowed it for the night and have since decided its use as unneccesary, rooks are easy enough to eliminate.... if you can get one or two by themselves :p

hehe, btw..... :D
