Blue screen o' Death
« on: March 08, 2006, 12:15:11 PM »
Just got my PC back from the techs, was running fine, and played a few times online. I upgraded my RAM to 512 and less than 75% of my HD is full.

Now, when I try to load the game the PC locks up and goes to the blue screen. Never had this happen before, and the PC has all sorts of recently updated firewall, adwarer, and virus protection programs on it.

One day everything related to AH works, and the next, I can't even load the game.

I'll provide additional specs if you think you need them.

Sound can work in Windowsbut fail in DirectX, due to XP having an emulator for sounds.  Run DXDIAG and check the "Display" and "Sound" tabs to be sure you have the native driver loaded for those devices.

Yes, turns out I had a heating issue with the Vid card, had to reinstall new drivers, sadly I need to do this each time I turn on the computer. Thanks for the help. Never had a problem with sound, but I was thinking the same thing, SoA.

It is just time for a new PC.
