Actually, one of the first takeoffs I ever did in AH happened the same way. You stalled out and the plane you were in fell from the sky. Lose the bombs, rockets, try a lighter fuel load (just don't run out while you're flying!) and try a plane that's easier to learn in, like a spitfire or a p51 or a la7.
Learn to listen for the stall horn. It's that buzzing noise. It warns you of a stall. Don't pull up too hard or you'll stall. You can gently ride the edge once you get used to it, but don't pull sharp moves while your stall horn is blaring -- especially pulling hard "up".
