A lot of the A-10s you see aren't junk yet, they're based at Davis-Monthan (there are three in the runup area), but it does look like there are a good number parked on the dirt with the other junk

Virtually all of the boneyard facility is dirt. There is very little paving out there. There is no need for pavement as the ground is rather hard and rain is not common. Dirt or pavement has no bearing on whether the bird is in storage, salvage parts or hold for scrap.

Morph,

There are at least 2 salvage yards adjoining DM that will happily sell you a partial fuselage. They may or may not have an F14 (they ARE rather large to fit in a room ya know) but there are LOTS of other parts out there you can buy. All it takes is $ and a truck / trailer to haul it out on. Wathout for rattlesnakes, black widows and tarantulas though. ;)

Look at the bright side Morph,  they all dont get chopped up.  Some of those F-14s will probably be turned in to drones and used for target practice by F-22's and F-18s  :t  :lol

I remember in 90 everytime we drove out to the base hospital they had a row of f-106s along the fence perimeter.
