Made several changes to the flight model affecting static thrust, propeller slipstream effects, ground effect, flaps and slats. This affects all planes to one degree or another.

I think i can speak for a large portion of the ah community when i say fundamental flight modeling fidelity is more important than superficial things like new planes/graphics/game play elements.

The new B-17G looks really, really nice, so whatever they do I trust it is going to be gorgeous.

Was a 38L model.  It had 8x50s and could carry 2 wingpods with 2x50s each.  Believe this was a experiment but believe it saw action.  Also reading through resources im seeing there were 38s there were produced with a tail hook to take off and land from cvs.  Also reading through some resources the the 38L could carrry 2x2000lb bombs with the 10 HVARs.

Not great source but also shows other variants. Source 1

Armement-test model P-38 with 8 .50s and gunpods didnt see service, nor did the testbed with 6 .50s in the nose (though I've read an account where an 8th AAF pilot claims he shot down Adolph Galland (in a 109D9) with one in a crater or abandoned mineshaft[!] full of wrecked P-38s in the summer of 1944), the one with an extra 20mm, the one with 3 .60mm MGs, the one with a pair of .50s and a pair of .30s, the one with the tailhook (which was never actually tested, just propsed and possibly mocked up), the one on floats (likewise proposed but never built), the one that could drop torpedoes, or the one with a 75mm gun.

The 38s we have are just fine. ;) :p
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

Actually the 6 gun 38 did see some combat.  The 80th FS Headhunters had at least one that was flown in action.  Pilots liked the concentrated firepower.  Here's a photo of it :)
