I don't mind SOME shaking, but I have to agree with the others who bring out the point about the gun randomization & the shaking....having both is neutering the ostie a bit too much IMO.
I had trouble hitting planes diving straight at me @ less than 1000 out (sometimes); but I can nail bombers so high overhead they don't have icons (30,000+ ft?) after figuring out how to lead them....granted I only land a hit or two in a pass, but those one or two hits seem to do more damage than low level hits.

Six Miles? Icons go away at 6K. Technically, from my understanding, the Osti only can shoot 3K. And the smoothing code makes the plane do that little slidey thing at 2.5K so you're not actually tracking it's real position.

OF course I could have bad info also.

i dont got enough perkies as it is and i like upen my lancs to kill 1 dang t 34 or wirble its fun droping 42 bombs

It is hard enough to hit anything with the Osti without making it harder.  Also, I don't think the Osti is any good past 2.5K as it was explained to me.

I am probably the best Ostwind gunner in the game...I have never hit anything, a buff or otherwise, beyond 3.5k. I have never hit a single engine fighter beyond 2.5k.

Yeah...strange isn't it? Of course if it were an everyday thing I wouldn't have mentioned it. I can't remember the last guy I hit & actually killed one of his buffs out of icon range; but we had a conversation about it in P.M. I wish I could remember his I.D.  If that were the only time I had done it I wouldn't even have mentioned it; but I have hit buffs out of icon range with field guns/osties more than a dozen times. When I hit them that high...one hit almost always makes a smoke trail but from 800 it takes three or four hits to show some damage....sometimes....not always.

B.T.W. nice to finally meet the most humble ostie gunner on the game.

I think I'll start filming my 37mm outings & the next time I nail one at that immpossible range I'll post it.

Films don't work in Osti, the viewer does not move with the traverse of the turret it stays centered relative to the facing of the chassis...I wish it did work...
