Shooting out of the B17 turrets
« on: March 22, 2006, 12:36:06 PM »
I'm not much of a bomber pileit, except for the occasional run (usualy when hungover)... of course, new version... 1st thing I try is the new plane. Set up the views, gunsights (This is a pain in the bottom, could we please have an "apply to all"?)... I set off to the red bish skies with my shiny new plane. At this point, I have to mention that I am possibly the worst bomber gunner you have ever witnessed, anyway... as I approach the field and am in the middle of calibrating I spot a 262 not too far from me, a little below... but I know (for flying those a little) that he'll have no trouble comming up on me.
I keep him in my sight as he's slowly circling around me out of reach (I can't hit anything beyond 800 yds... hey, I'AM NOT A NUMBER, ok!). A quick look through the bomber sight, I should be about to drop, but of course... here he comes, misses... I don't, boom he goes. I know why I didn't miss that shot... it was because I wasn't 'aiming' for once, but just staring at the shell casings flying around... I found that pretty nice and gave a much better 'feeling' than of what I remember.

Cool.
