Just purchased CH Fighterstick (USB), CH Pro Throttle (USB) and have had CH Pro Pedals (USB) for some time. I can't get the new controls to work with AH. Downloaded the new V4.0 of the CH manager, hasn't helped. and I am completely at a loss. In no way, shape or form do I possess the skill to script for the equipment, so that option is out for me.

Could use any helpful suggestions or comments.

Just Assign each button/axis in AH "Select Joystick" without CM 4.0 and then map the functions.  You must hit "apply" after you "set input"  for each button# and axis assignment.  I numbered the stick buttons/4-way-hats  0-15 and 16-31 on the throttle.  BTW, I use the 8-way on the throtlle for views with the pinky button on the stick for "up" view/modifier.

Oops,
That was actually assign buttons 1-16 on the stick to inputs 0-15 and the same for buttons 17-32 on the throttle.  It has been over 2 years since I did this.

I just got my CH Throttle and pedals, the Fighterstick is out of stock for a week or so.
I'm having some trouble with the throttle buttons being recognized in AH.

I'm not new to flightsims or game controllers but I'm not sure what's meant by the above.
With my Saitek throttle I had rotary buttons which I used for pitch and aileron trim, what's the best way to do this with a CH system?
I see there's three modes, how do you switch between them?

I went to the CH Hanger forum and downloaded a map, it must be for the Control manager which I'd rather not use.  The map files end in .cmc or .cms which AH doesn't recognize in the "load map" function. The map files included with AH end in .kmp (?)

So... if anyone can help with these minor dilemas it would be great, maps, suggestions or whatever.
Thanx!  :)

umm why?

with the control manager you assign all 3 to 1 virtual stick, and map all you want, with macros.

if you manually map in AH, then you lose the functionality of the modes which i guess you can live without, but why deny yourself all those extra buttons?

Alky,
I had actually corrected my initial post in the one following it.  Skuzzy outlined the assignment procedure in another post-

If you have multiple joysticks, you will need to manually configure them.  As an example, I will explain how to correctly setup rudders in Aces High.

Start Aces High and go to the "Offline" option from the clipboard.

1) Press "Setup" from the clipboard.
2) Select "Controls" from the clipboard.
3) Press "Joystick".
4) Press "Select Joystick"
5) Select "Rudder" from the "AH Control" list.
6) Make sure the rudders are selected in the center section
7) Make sure the "Z-Axis" is selected in the right input section
8) Press the "Set Input" button.

If you loaded any control software for the pedals, make sure it is not
loaded when you start Aces High, as Aces High will properly detect the
pedals and the software will interfere with proper operations.

The above works for every axis, stick, and/or mode joysticks operate in.

The maps in CH Hangar all use CM and some of the earlier maps may not work in CM 4.0 without modification.

As Mustaine says, there is nothing wrong with using CM.  I have used it for more complex jet sims such as Falcon 4 and Lomac.  I just prefer to keep it simpler for AH and I find 1 mode adequate for just flying fighters in AH.

Give me your email if you want the map that I use.  It cant be downloaded as its custom made.  You need 2 files for the map to work.  You need the corresponding file names for you to download the map in CHctrl manager.  The .map extension and the .cms extension both need to be in the same folder.  The ones you are using have to have the same name.

If you want to save time I can send you the one I use both the .cms and the .map files.

I'd like to try it, I have my email in the original post but here it is again, just change the (at) to @ and take out the spaces...  alky (at) shaw.ca  I do it that way to avoid the spambots that scan for email addresses.

DAVENRINO... thanx for the response, I'm still a little lost in the context of AH doesn't see the buttons on the throttle when you push them looking at the keyboard map.

Thanx guys :)

First you have to assign each button and apply it in "Select Joystick" screen.  It is a bit confusing as you would prolly want to assign AH Control "button 17" to CH Pro Throttle input "button 0", apply and then assign "button 18" to "button 1" input.  I used AH Control "buttons 1-16" assigned to the Fighterstick's input "buttons 0-15".

You prolly should try Hoarach's map.  It would be a good starting point and is easily modified to suit your own needs.  GL

Fighterstick, PT & PP

I used a map by JNOV from CH hangers, and it was really nice, except that the top POV position would not goto the Forward Up view and the button on the PT assigned for Up view would not work. Went back removed the maps and manually assigned buttons through the AH setup and everything is working now, with the exception of the POV hat on the PT. Any Clues?

Would like to set the 2nd POV hat up as my primary view POV, small hands here and the reach for the POV on the fighterstick feels awkward. Don't pity me because I have small hands, I make up for it in other area's, such as dry bitting sarcasm, egotistical tantrums & dreams of World Domination. :O

I use the PT hat for views, also with FS pinky switch for "up".

Go to SELECT JOYSTICK /AH CONTROL/HAT 2/CH PT/HAT/SET INPUT/APPLY

I just got my new set of USB Pro stuff. I'm trying to migrate from my old analog CH stuff but I've wasted an entire evening. I'm not really getting anywhere.

When I try to direct map my setup in AH, AH sees the mini joystick on the throttle, not my FS. There's no way to change it.

I've tried a couple of the maps from CH hangar. With them I get closer, but still have a heck of a time. JNAVs is really complex with CMS files that I haven't a clue how to modify.

If ya'll have a map your willing to share I'd sure appreciate it. Please send it to hudcomp at comcast.net.

Thanks!
