Tank Town on Present Map
« on: March 27, 2006, 10:35:34 AM »
It's too bad people can't leave the fighter towns and tank town alone for the people who enjoy that.  When I first came online in October 2005 after being in H2H for a few years (3 kids in college) I bombed in tanktown myself until I had a nice conversation with a person I had bombed.  I did it because there was a lot of gv's and it was good dive bombing practice in literally a fish bowl.

After my visit with this person, I realized that it was indeed a low practice and plenty of other bases to go to and not ruin someone's fun.  I do not participate in any planned base raids on either fighter town or tank town.

I wish it were possible for tank town to have killshooter somehow.  So if anybody drops bombs or fighter/attackers come in strafing, it simply shoots themselves down, and then the same for c47's, and gv's getting killshot in fighter town.

Guilty As Charged

Uh - I guess I'm guilty as charged. I was trying to blow up tanks with bombs & rockets at Tank Town to no avail.  I managed 1 assist after dropping 10 5hunnertpounders and a mess o rockets.

Lucky thing I sucked or my behavior woulda been considered rude, eh?

I will cease & desist, but will someone PLEASE tell me how I can kill a Tiger with a fighter & what loadout when it's parked at the end of my runway???

While I'm confessing, I also like to BnZ in a Fw.

Oh, and I like to strafe jeeps, too.

Okay...we now need to take the airbases off the island and put 30,000 foot high mountains around the beaches.  If that is not possible, then we need very heavy cloud cover hanging over tank town...about 500 feet above ground level up to 20,000 feet.....thick as pea soup.  Disable ord and troops there too.

I've learned in many other MOGs over many years: if something can be done in a game, it will be done in a game...... and others will complain about it.  Improvise, adapt, overcome.

Besides...don't some people think close air support has a place in a tank battle?

Knew there was a reason I tend to stay away from the center of the map more often than not..... except when Masada's mountain is on the map......

Also, make it so thatthe bases just can't be taken.  Maybe that way it can be left as it is and keep the buffs/divebombers/base takers out.

Tank town needs anti-tank planes like the IL2 or Tiffie just to spice things up.

The gameplay coadbase will not allow bases that can't be captured.

There are a variety of combinations that can get the job done ... then, on the other hand I have seen Tigers take full loads from Lancs, B-24s, IL-2s, P-38s and anything else that is capable of dropping ord ... and have it still drive away or keep on shooting.

If ya really want to kill a Tiger ... get a Tiger.

Bombers in tank town are lame, I hope your wings fall off.  I look forward to making examples of you with my ostwind.

Unless he's shooting me, me and all my squadies don't shoot down flaks in tank town.  If all of you tankers out there would do the same we wouldn't have near the air cover issues we do now.

Unite Unite I say Flaks should be untouchable in TT.

I already know that.  But maybe they could change it for these bases and not have them added to the total bases per side.  Maybe not, but that is what I was getting at.

There just should be some way to keep FT and TT for what they are there for.

maybe police it ourselves get a few guys from each country acting as buff killers over FT and TT make youselves known and opposition let them get at the buffs
even give position of buffs before they get over bases.
All of these other bases on the map and they have to try and ruin the fun for those of us that like FT and TT.
lol maybe we should all go around and kill barracks at each countries forward bases stop the landgrab !! same situation we would be ruining the fun for them, thats why we don't do it!! but they insist on ruining our fun.
