Seems like I remember the ComAir deal is beneficial, as they are looking to get your ratings and into a commuter job asap. The majors are very short of pilots, so getting in a program and getting out and flying fast is key. No doubt it is going to be VERY costly. And then plan on starving for a few years flying. Oh, and Guntr, I believe the maintenance on those school planes are by the students helped by a few full time guys. That's scary.
Also, remember in the world of mergers and aquisitions, ya might want to shoot for flying for 1 of the big 3...meaning getting a job at American Eagle or United Express other than another carrier would best put you in a transfer positon to a bigger, more stable major airline.
I went to Spartan School of Aeronautics, kinda Embry-Riddles competitor for the amt program, and can assure you it's a whole lota hype and 10X the cost. Find a good local program and just get them hours if ya can. (my opinion) I work with guys who spent like $700 at a community college to get their airman certificate, where's mine cost more like $15,000. And that was in 1985.
Im not sure about the girls working uphill against the traditional system Mav. I asked a F/O on a 757 to motor the #2 engine so i could leak check a chip detector O ring and she didn't know how. Im not toejamtin you, so they aren't getting in the majors by sure brillance. We have lotsa female pilots. Might even be a edge in getting a job.
As far as wonding about shagging them Animal, go ahead. I'll take care of your girlfriend REALLY good. heh
You'll never make it Animal, I think hanging out of a helicopter wildly shooting at things fits you much better. Offer still stands on yer old lady though.
