Does bombing a Refinery, Training Base,
Munitions factory, etc. have any effect at all on the game?

It does huge things for your bomber rank and hit percentage.

If you want the number one bomber rank, forget things like bombing fighter hangars, vehicle hangars, aircraft carriers or the like...milk running a factory is the way its done.  Go in with a Stuka and that one massive bomb...then check your hit percentage.  It'll probably surge to 600% or so.

Yes ... but you have to take down the "City"s first.

"City"s supply the strats (zone targets) ... strats (zone targets) supply the bases.

Taken from "Help" ...

The basic categories of strategy targets in Aces High include field targets, zone targets, city targets, and supply targets.

The field targets affect availability of field items such as planes, fuel, ammo, etc.  Every tower has a chalkboard displaying the field number and the current status of the field targets.

The zone targets are the factories that affect the resupply of field targets.

The city targets are the buildings within a city and they affect the resupply of the zone targets.

The supply targets are the trains, convoys, and barges that resupply damaged fields and factories.

Check out the help files -- I believe all the particulars are in there.  In a nutshell, what the strat factories do in the game is affect the time it takes for a destroyed strat object on an airfield in that zone to rebuild.  That is to say, damage the training camp, barracks take longer to rebuild, destroy AA factory, field ack guns take longer to rebuild, etc.

The CITY (not talking about a town near a field) affects the strat factories' rebuild time.

Just note that keeping all strats to zero will not mean the airfield strat objects will never rebuild, just that they will take the maximum amount of time (something like three hours).

And note that NONE of the strats affect the rebuild time of hangers, which are all on an unchangable 15 min timer IIRC.

LOL ... sorry ... it's just goes to show that the strateegerist in this game really don't understand the underlying logic of the available strat in the game. If they did, and want to get down and dirty with strat, in a real and viable way ... then have at.

If they spend their time playing the real strat game, maybe then hording just airfields will lessen.

My MAW 101 training really comes in handy at times ... :D

Slapshots right.

Bombers hitting strat objects are NOT

A killing CV's ruining that good furball.
B Killing Hangers again messing up a good furball
C killing GV's again screwing up a good fight.

You can't get rid of the bombers & Jabo types. They are here to stay.
Not everyone wants to be a furballer either. So some folks are going to fly bomber/jabo runs. Its a fact, accept it.

All you can do is try to educate them into hitting targets that help not hurt.
