I think the 50 cals are too weak. I spray zeros from wing tip to wing tip and they keep going.....WHAT THE F**K? I watch the ww2 gun cams from hellcats and mustangs and those 50 cals were bad news for anything it was pointed at. Also i heard from other guys that the 50s in aces high one were stronger by far. Also they had incedairy and armor piercing rounds.....and thats what i want. Those ap shells and incedairys destoryed boats, trains and houses aswell as enemy fighters. All you other guys that fly f4u's,f6f's,51's or anything with those 50s i know you support me. Let aces high know what we want.

50's work and work well, when in their element.

For one, you need convergence. More guns hitting the same spot results in more broken stuff created.

Two, you need time. While 50's did have API rounds, most of what they spat out was slugs, which dont go boom. So on order to do damage you need to dump lead into a spot until something breaks.

And three, you need to concentrate your fire on a smaller area. In your post, you said that you sprayed a zeke from wing to wing. What you likely did was put a bunch of holes in the skin, but since you did not concentrate your fire, nothing critical was shredded.

when i made those hits on the zero my coverages where set 300 275 250 he was between 200 and 400 and i sprayed him from his left wing tip straight across the cockpit to the right tip and i didnt even wound him. Even the guy in the zero told me that should have killed him.

.50 cals work fine you just have to aim at the right place on the plane and set your convergence

Again, spraying from side to side, rather than focussing on one part of the aircraft, will not result in a kill. Just alot of torn up skin.

Train your guns on one spot on your target (I prefer center mass, always something important there) and fire until something bad happens to your target.

If memory serves correctly, AH1 used a hitbox, where as AH2 bases hits more on model geometry. That may contribute something to it.

Of course, it could also be a placebo effect.

If memory serves correctly, AH1 used a hitbox, where as AH2 bases hits more on model geometry.

AH I did not have a "hit box" and neither does AH II.

Pyro said the "hit resolution" was more fined tuned with AH2 ... which a lot of people translate as, "near-misses were registering as hits in AH1".
