That goes a long way in explaining your disbelief in a higher power. If you can't get past the "monkey in your mind" (the constant noise in all of our heads - thoughts), you'll never see past the finite. Meditation and prayer takes practice and concentration to perform them right. With practice, your mind will settle and you would be surprised how your outlook broadens. Leonid, very good point.

Newspaper article dealing with the skiing death. The person responsible plead guilty and was sentenced to 90 days in jail. Saw it today.

Eagler, I do not have an outlook problem. I've got a wide field of vision. My lack of spirituality comes from a skeptic attitude and lack of evidence supporting the spiritual

I can see beyond my daily day, no problem. I can easily take big chucks out of abstract concepts, such as spiritually, and intellectually understand them.

Feelings OTOH are more primitive in nature. They cannot be avoided, but the intellect can to some extend control how they are released.

Either it is some sexual reference I don't get because of cultural differences, or you're saying I am narrow minded for not being spiritual.

StSanta, i was alluding to the use of the phrase "wide field of vision" in a thread about someone who was hit by a skiier they didnt see.

it was very subtle and not that good, just kinda popped into my head.
