So... why all the neg G maneuvers

I am pretty awful as a fighter pilot. Banking hard right then pushing the stick forward has nearly always bought me a few extra seconds. In my case it's not stick stirring - its simply a means of deferring 'death' for a few seconds longer.
Here we are, living on top of a molten ball of rock, spinning around at a 1,000mph, orbiting a nuclear fireball and whizzing through space at half-a-million miles per hour. Most of us believe in super-beings which for some reason need to be praised for setting this up. This, apparently, is normal.

Since I am a pretty bad fighter pilot, I tend to use manuevers that border on stupidity and/or genius.

The negative G outside roll is a good move, as it forces your enemy to red-out if they're going fast enough or to miss. My other favoriate move is to slow down, get to about 200mph and lure them into a slow scissors or stall-fight. Negative G's are a great way to have your opponent miss as well as make other enemies miss when they're zooming up on you or slowed down enough.

A valid tactic if used correctly, if not, you're just a fat, easy target.

Negative G rolls only make me wonder what exactly is he thinking?  There are so many other things to try.

Negative G rolls are a sure death.
