Radio / Range Volume
« on: April 05, 2006, 04:56:34 AM »
Understandably, we all get excited from time to time while playing Aces High.  With that in mind; however, I would like to make a request that we make a push for one or two small favors.

1.  Please assist those excited few to understand that when they shout into the radio, they overload the microphone and we can't understand what they are saying anyway.  In addition, they make it so there is no need for the enemy to shoot me down, because their loud screeching, shouting radio has just blown me out of my chair!

2.  I would like to ask HI-Tech if it would be possible to implement a new volume control for the range radio that is separate and apart from other volume controls.  In this manner, one could turn down the radio on "range" to a tolerable level, while still being able to listen to and communicate with fellow squadies.

Thank you for all your help in this matter.

I still support this one. While range has a lot of uses, there are nights when I don't want to hear a peep out of it, normally because of spamming or overmodulation.

Give us this, please.

It would be great if "range" was just another tunable voice radio and range was simply one of the tunable channels.

Two tunable chans would have lots of use e.g. in many SEA events.

Could be done e.g. with dot commands (if changing the GUI was too bothersome)...  ".range xxx"
Of course ".rangevolume [0-10]" might also be nice :)

Range also cuts out  the squad/tuneable channel... So if your winged up and talking to a pal you constantly get cut-off with the 'Ya'll see any of dem dar 'tanks in the hollar?'

Separate volume controls would be great. Even better would be allowing range to be a tuneable channel.

I had a volume problem myself...or my squaddies did. I bought a new mic/headphones recently & my old mic required me to speak loud, clear & close to the mic....not so with my new mic :lol  It's hard to get it adjusted so I can talk & hear at a reasonable level. If I get on anyones ears I'm sorry; just inform me or mute me.
