gettin dangerous out there?
It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

My mom got a case in her index finger. It killed the bone off, it was pretty nasty and now the tip of her finger flops around.

They cought it pretty early so it was not super dangerous but it will have lasting effects do to the bone having to be removed.

I do not consider the case of the guy falling in a harbor filled with  **** a big concern. Of course raw sewage is going to be bad, but when you have an accident like that what can you do.

The WA state cases are more interesting, but still 500 deaths in a year is nothing.  Worrying about this is pretty silly. Just dont swim with cuts and if you do clean them. Nothing to freak out about.

The guy here is a sad story, to be sure, and I'm glad people are talking about it if only to make them realize how STUPID they are if they ignore the warnings and go into the water right now.  And yes, there are idiots on every beach on the island ignoring the lifeguards and playing around in the contaminated water and wet sand (and getting sick for it too).  The thing people are ignoring about this guy in telling his sob story is the fact that he got drunk and was messing around and fell into what basically amounts to a trough filled with raw, untreated sewage fresh out of people's toilets.  Anything and everything any of those people are infected with is going to be breeding in that cesspool, as well as the normal staph bacteria and other nasty stuff that would NORMALLY be in that water, only now its going to be much more prevalent because there's more food for it to grow and reproduce with.  This guy KNEW the water was nasty and filled with sewage, and still played around where he could fall in anyway.  I personally think he's a candidate for the Darwin award.  Do I pity him?  Absolutely.  Flesh eating bacteria are scary as hell.  I still find it hard to find sympathy for the situation, since he put himself at risk.

Why is raw sewage being dumped to the ocean? Heard of cleaning plants?
