What the White House officials did  was release declassified parts of a National Intelligence Estimate about Iraq.

Now the pres, and the libs, are trying to make a fire.

you're a bit turned around on your time frame.

he testified that classified information was leaked in retaliation, then a couple days later they declassified it.  

declassified in what looks a lot like a "we just committed treason, how do we cover our ass?" kind of move.
