When in flight you can change from fighter to attack mode, bring up the map, right click on the base you are near and select either fighter or attack. I use it all the time

Thanks Wipass,

I did not know you could change sortie mode between Fighter and Attack or vice versa when in flight.  I will give it a try, and if it works then the perfect solution was already in the game and i was just a dumb prettythang, LOL!!!!!   :)

I just tried wipass's sugestion, and i could not figure out how to do it.  When in flight and you right or left click on the clipboard it does not allow you to enter the hanger screen and this is where you make the change for fighter or attack mode sortie.  I did not see any other place on the clipboard where this could be changed while in flight.

Can anyone else besides wipass make this change from the clipboard while in flight?

Wipass can you tell us exactly where you are making the change on the clipboard while in flight?
When I right click on th enemy base i am near i do not get any option or place to change the sortie from fighter mode to attack mode while in flight.

Wipass are you doing this in the MA (Main Arena)?

Sometimes, HiTech, the mission changes while in flight....Normal in WW2...is it that wrong to AVOID shooting stuff on the ground just to preserve a hit percentage?

The suggestion seems to be a good solution for the problem.

Idea sounds as good as when I said it 3 years ago, but as you can see it does not get an enthusastic reception.  My only argument for this previously has been that it would help encourage team play.  More people would be willing to help straffe down the town, or other objects if it did not mean porking their hit percentage stats.

I have to agree with the fellas on this one HT.  I have had some converstions with Skuzzy and I was told the reason for the attack mode was to be able to seperate the fighters that can carry ord from the few fighters that could not.  That if there was just a fighter mode,  there would be no way of preventing people from arming planes that weren't suppose to carry ord with bombs and/or rockets.
Yes I know I suck, other wise youuuuu would be dead so stop bragging.

Or....simply eliminate the fighter scoring category and separate kills in attack mode for air or ground kills.  Leave the rest of attack mode alone.  Whats the difference if you get shot down by a 110 or A20 as opposed to a Spit or P51?

Ord for each plane is determined in the hanger regardless of fighter or attack mode.  Currently you can choose fighter or attack mode AFTER you choose your ord and ammo loadout.

One drawback that I expect people to scream about is that vulches will count as ground kills if the plane is still on the ground when shot.

I usually fly in attack mode. But I can't do that when using a plane which isn't provided to carry attack weapons (eg. C205, Me262)
I keep track of my hit percentage. If it goes down significantly it's time to reinstall drivers and review settings.
I would like to see all planes having an attack mode.

Are a majority of you that worried about your score that you won't help anyone because that 100 or 200 rounds might wreck your hit percentage?

If you are, shouldn't you be flying around in attack mode all of the time?
