Maxi, there is a padlock view in Aces High. Press F11 key and then TAB to select the target you want to track (hit TAB multiple times to toggle between targets).
But i seriously recommend you take Ren up on his offer. Because pan and padlock view will only help you with ONE enemy. In the MA, youll mostly get into situations where you have to track more then one enemy (and maybe a friendly as well). And Ren is a great trainer, he can surely show you a lot more then just setting your views.
If you use the "Snap" view mode, not the "Instant", you wont have immediate change of view, but kind of a fast pan to the new one.
Another thing you need to do is: Set your hatswitch so it uses 8 views, not only 4. To do this go to SETUP > CONTROLS > JOYSTICK > Stick Map. There you can assign the "Up Left" hatswitch button to Forward left view, "Up Right" to Forward right etc etc. Also youll need to map a "look up button" to your joystick or easily reachable on your keyboard. To look around, you can combine those, ie pressing "look up" and "look back" at the same time, youll get a "look back up" view.
When your done, you need to set up all head positions for EVERY view (theres 17 of them

). Move your head around with the arrow keys and page up/down untill you have the best view possible, then press F10 to save head position. This has to be done for each plane seperatly.
Here is the link to the Net Aces article on how to set up views.
Side note: All those head positions will be saved in a file in your HTC/Aces High II/Settings folder. You might want to back it up every once in a while. That way, if you ever need to reinstall AH, you wont have to do it all over again.
PS: The view system in AH is actually one of the best. You just need to set it up. I dont have trackIR and i do just fine with an 8-way head switch and "look up" mapped to JS.
