Whatever happened to "crazy"
« on: February 01, 2001, 09:13:00 PM »
It seems that now days any time a person has ANY kind of problem the blame is always places somewhere other than on them, like on the parents, on enviroment, on the media, on video games, you name it its been blamed. God seems to be a good scapegoat aswell.  cant people just be crazy any more? I know sometimes people have had problmes that have made them.."off" but these days it seems noone wants to admit that some people just come off the assembly line with out all their rivets in place.

So what does it take to be "CRAZY" these days?

I assume when you say crazy, you mean "clinically insane"??

I ask this:  what determines the definition of crazy, some outside set of variables we can check off, or is it basically a comparison to what we consider "normal"?

IMO, there definitly are crazy people out there, but I'm more apt to believe that they act in an insane manner because of circumstances.  Consider the weight of "evidence" offered in studies of seriel and mass killers (in particular, I liked Elliot Leyton's "Hunting Humans"... check that out!)  and I think we begin to see what seperates the insane from the sane.

Anyhow... watching this one w/ interest.

Jay.

CRAZY: A person or persons who have or may try to chase an invisable midgit down the street with a 6 foot steel dildo.

REALLY CRAZY: people who sell 6 foot steel dildos.

flakbait,
That was one helluva series, Space, Above and Beyond.  Was totally bummed when Fox axed it in favor of that time travel show, Sliders.  What was the slogan on that Chig ace's spacecraft - "Abandon All Hope?"

"Space, Above and Beyond" is re-run on Sci-Fi network....seems to be 8pm EST a lot but not really in any sort of scheduled time slot.

Sci-Fi also just re-ran "Sliders" at 6pm EST weekdays, I believe the entire series, but it looks like that is gone for now.
