problem with land mode in cruiser

This could be me, I haven't been on lately. I was in a cruiser trying to fire up a base. I switched to land mode and clicked on the map to designate target but the guns would not traverse. I ended up using sea mode. has something changed in the game, inrespects to this aspect?

Not that I know of. I just hopped into the TA and land mode, w key, did traverse the gun to the spot I indicated with a mouse click.
The only time it didn't traverse was when I clicked on a spot out of range or tried to traverse it to an area where the gun couldn't physically move there, like in a forward battery and aiming behind the ship.
