Manuscrits Latins normally -- in fact, right I'm working on BN MSS Latins 3071, 3072 and (I think) 15851. Though I need to determine what is the mysterious Fonds du Theil next time I visit.


You working in the photographic service or with those gallica folks, or just nearby?

Hmm lets see...
All my uniforms are free, all my boots are free, all the ammunition I want to shoot at the range is free, I can check my duty weapons out whenever I want and go to the local range..all for free. We get fed once a week at work for free too.
And when I work on a holiday I get paid double time and a half. :D

Nuclear Security does have some perks. :aok

The best perk for cop, esp young ones: the chicks. We called em "Badge bunnies", many were married to wet noodle rich guys and wanted to roll in the sack with a mans man type of thing, others just had a thing for uniforms.

I took full advantage of that perk.

Don't know what is the "Fond du Theil", do you mean "fond" as a collection or as a place ?

I'm working at the DSI of the BnF ,especially for the "catalogue" ,expecially the creation/modification/indexations of the notices (I hate MARC with passion :D)

Ohh perks... ummm
 - annual car allowance topped up by fuel vouchers
 - expense account
 - occasional trips overseas for tech/sales training (toejamet, singapore, aussie etc)
 - free tech quals/certs as long as I pay attention
 - free cellphone
 - free net
 - flexible hours (I usually work 10-7 to avoid traffic)
 - nice suped up laptop
 - home network that would put most small businesses to shame (for free) securitywise

AND the most important of all.. vendorware... aka vendor shirts and jackets. I am a vendor potato :D

I could also get really really cheap Apple gear - but I chose not to - I see that as some sort of punishment more than a perk.

It's some sort of MS collection, but its exact composition is a little mysterious, since I don't think it's a fonds in the same was as say, Latin, Baluze, or other MSS.
Anyway, cool, I'll look you up next time I'm in town -- I gather we can now look at our demandes en cours without fear. Ah, those were the days.

55+ hours a week - minimum

No dinners

No travel

No stock

BUT...I get a new (-ish) car, gas and insurance.  I can change the car every week.  That's worth something, I suppose...

Don't even ask the salary that comes with this paradise on earth.   :rolleyes:

I can buy an RV from any of our companies (We are the largest mfg. in the World now) at 2% below wholesale. On a large deisel pusher that can be a $50k or more savings.

No perks other than basic health care, dental, something called "Employee Incentive Plan", good retirement package. But the pay is good, and the stress level is manageable, and I can be virtual (I work from home 20-30 hours a week)

My perk is simple. I get paid for not working. I don't even have to show up for work and not work. I just get a nice check deposited in my bank account every month, annual raises and health coverage all without having to go to work. Beat THAT set of job perks!:p






















Retirement, it's a tough job but somebody's got to do it.
