Ah, i'm back home after 5 days of hell. Crappy drive, crappy sleep (those hospital beds blow lol) and just a whole hell of a lot of waiting and anxiety. We got to Cooks children hospital early friday morning and I had him signed in at 9. I talked to the doctor who was going to do the surgery (Dr. Lashus, real nice guy) and the anesthesiologist (kinda goofy, but nice dont remember her name)
The actual surgery didn't last too long, alot quicker than I thought it was going to be. They finished with the actual surgery in about 4 hours, then he stayed in recovery for another 2 hours. After that, they gave us a room and thats where we stayed the rest of the time.
They said he did really well, especially considering how they had to do it. I don't remember details, but they cut the side of him open underneath his arm pit pushed his lungs aside and implanted the device that way. He's doing great now, being some what of a touch-me-not and still a little sore but thats to be expected.
The Cooks children hospital is extremely nice, leaps and bounds above ours here in town. Everyone whom I had contact with was also extremely nice. All the ones here in town are real anal. Very pleasant people to be around.
I was going to stop by grapevine and say hi, but i was so damn tired I just wanted to go home. Again, thank you all for your kind words and sentiment.
Its very much appreciated.
